A sublimation calendar or fixation machine can be used to transfer a print onto fabric, using designs which have been printed on paper, using a printer such as the MS JP4. The machines can also be for the fixation and setting of disperse and pigment inks, the heat setting of fabric, or for the bonding or lamination of products, using varying types of hot melt adhesive products such as web, mesh and film adhesives.
Through the use of ‘oil filled’ heating drums, close temperature is maintained and this provides excellent print quality, in terms of the ink penetration of the product and uniformity of the colour both across the width and throughout the length of the roll. Temperatures of up to 235°C can be achieved across the range.
Different products require different parameters to achieve the correct result, so the combination of heat, time and pressure that is ideal for one product may not suit a different one. Our broad experience in this field allows us to advise you on the most suitable combinations for treated, woven, non-woven, mono and bi stretch materials.
The DS series sublimation and fixation machine can be constructed with various cylinder dimensions, which provides you with a choice of width and diameter. The wider the cylinder, the wider the product that can be processed and you could even process two rolls simultaneously. On the other hand, the larger the drum, the faster the production speeds achievable.
