Bale Breaking & Opening Machines

Our Lidem bale-breaking machine is designed to split bales and bundles of fibre, so as to continually feed carding or mixing lines. It offers a high-production capacity and vibration-free operation, along with a high-loading capacity, as it uses its transport belt to move the material to the feed unit.

Manufactured in different working widths and capacities, this machine can adapt to a customer’s mixing-line needs. High precision scales can also be integrated in to the system, so as to provide maximum accuracy over weights and outputs.

The Lidem bale breaker is a real asset for those involved in manufacturing pillows, cushions, pouffes, duvets, toys and other stuffed items, using materials such as natural or synthetic fibres, polyester, silicone hollowed fibre, crushed materials or feathers.

The first stage of this line-stuffing process is the opening or breaking of the materials that will become the stuffing and this is where the Lidem bale-breaking machine comes in. The bale is placed on the bale opener’s feed belt and is advanced against a spiked conveyor. This breaks the bale and, at the same time, feeds the fibre or carding opener.

The Lidem system is designed to deliver maximum openness and volume to the fibres, to make the process as effective as possible. The bale-breaking machines can produce open fibre, such as polyester and silicone hollow fibre, at production capacities of 450kg/hour or can produce fibre shaped in balls or pellets, depending on what the stuffing for the filling of the end product needs to be. Balls and pellets can be tailored in size and consistency, according to the customer’s needs. Production capacity for ball fillings can reach 150 kg/hour.
